Cookery School conditions of booking
 
 
1. Definitions and interpretation
In these terms and conditions (Conditions) the following definitions shall apply:
1.1 “you” means the organisation, company or individual who makes a booking on a cookery school course;
1.2 “we/us” means Daylesford Organic Limited t/a The Cookery School at Daylesford Farm;
1.3 “course” means such course that we may run and which you wish to attend
1.4 “booking” means the agreement for attendance on the course between you and us which shall be made once you have paid the charges for the course and we have confirmed your place on the course
1.5 “course date” means the date of the course.

 
 
2. Course
2.1 Please see appropriate course details for information as to what is included in the cost of the course. 
2.2 We are unable to tailor our course content for special dietary requirements unless you are booking a private day.
2.2 We reserve the right to make amendments to the course content without notice.
2.3 You must be over 16 years to attend all our courses with the exception of the Children’s Cookery Class where you must be between 8 and 15 years to attend.

 
 
3. Charges
3.1 Charges for the course shall be in accordance with the charges current for that particular course. We reserve the right to review the course charges from time to time but undertake to honour all bookings at the charge quoted at the time of booking.
3.2 We require payment in full at the time of booking.  We do not take provisional bookings and cannot confirm your place on a course until we receive full payment. In the event that payment is to be made by Cookery School Voucher or Daylesford Gift Voucher, vouchers must be presented and surrendered to a member of our Cookery School staff to gain admittance to the course.
3.3 In the event that you cancel the booking, we reserve the right to retain the charge paid by way of a cancellation charge, as follows:
3.3.1 More than 5 days before the course date, 100% of the charge will be refunded or, if you prefer and the original booking was not through use of a Cookery School Voucher or Daylesford Gift Voucher, you will be provided with a Cookery School Voucher to book an alternative course which shall be valid for 12 months from the date of issue.  For the avoidance of doubt, if the original booking was made using a Cookery School Voucher or Daylesford Gift Voucher, you will only be entitled to a replacement Cookery School Voucher.
3.3.2 5 days or less before the course date the full charge will be payable, and you will not be entitled to a refund or, if applicable, re-use of any Cookery School Voucher or Daylesford Gift Voucher if the original booking was made using a Cookery School Voucher or Daylesford Gift Voucher.
3.4 Cookery School Vouchers are non-refundable and lost vouchers cannot be replaced.
3.5 In the event that you are unable to attend the course, then we will accept a nomination by you for another person to attend in your place, provided that you give us 5 days notice of the substitution.  In all other circumstances, clause 3.3 shall apply. Any person attending in your clause shall also be expected to adhere to these terms and conditions.

 
 
4. Termination by us
4.1 We reserve the right to refuse any request for booking at our discretion without reason.
4.2 We may at any time cancel the booking or refuse your right to attend the course or require your removal from the course in the event of you failing to perform any of the obligations contained within these terms and conditions.
4.3 In the event that we cancel the booking or refuse you right to attend the course or require your removal from the course pursuant to Condition 4.2 we shall be under no obligation whatsoever to the you, and you shall make no claim whatsoever against us in relation to the booking except that where we cancel the booking or refuse the right to attend the course or require your removal from the course pursuant to clause 4.2 and such cancellation or refusal or removal shall have been made necessary by or have resulted from our negligence, you shall be entitled to claim from us a refund of the charges paid by you to us in relation to the booking. In no event shall we be liable for consequential damages of any nature for any reason whatsoever.
4.4.  In the unlikely event that we cancel the course we shall endeavour to provide you with one weeks’ notice.  You shall be entitled to a full refund of charges paid or a Cookery School Voucher to make a booking for an alternative course within 12 months from the date of issue of the voucher but otherwise we shall not accept any liability legal or otherwise due to such cancellation and shall not accept responsibility for expenses or other third party costs that may have been incurred by you. In no event shall we be liable for consequential damages of any nature for any reason whatsoever.

 
 
5. Safety and wellbeing
5.1 You should wear comfortable clothing and sensible footwear with non-slip soles and covered toes.  We will provide a Chefs Jacket and apron for use during the course.  Long hair must be tied back in the kitchen.
5.2 Please inform us in advance of any allergies.
5.3 Your wellbeing is important to us.  Our Cookery School team shall deliver clear and precise safety instructions at the start of the course. You must ensure that you adhere to such safety instructions and with all directions and instructions of our Cookery School staff.
5.4 The Cookery School is host to a variety of catering equipment, some of which may be unfamiliar to you.  You must ensure that you follow all operating instructions for such equipment which will be given to you by a member of the Cookery School team before use.  If, at any time during the course you are unsure of how to operate a piece of equipment please ask a member of the Cookery School team for assistance.
5.5 You are responsible for ensuring that your work stations are free from clutter and waste.  Please ensure that all used and dirty dishes, pans, knives etc. are placed in the designated areas and that sharp objects are kept out of harm’s way. 
5.6 Please inform a member of the Cookery School team immediately if a large amount of liquid, hot or cold, is spilt on to the floor.
5.7 In the event of an accident, whether or not this requires first aid treatment, please inform a member of the Cookery School staff immediately.  You may be required to complete an accident report sheet.
5.8 You must not be under the influence of any alcohol or drugs whilst attending the course.
5.9 You must keep to all areas designated as being available for your use during the course and not stray to any non-public areas.
5.10 If at any time you feel your health and safety may be at risk, please inform a member of the Cookery School team.
5.11 We cannot be held responsible for accidents caused by misuse of the Cookery School equipment or failure to adhere to all directions and instructions issued by the Cookery School team.
5.12 Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

 
 
6. Property
6.1 We cannot accept responsibility and shall not be liable for any loss or damage to your property including any car or other vehicle which may be brought in or left by you at the Cookery School. 

 
 
7. General
7.1 Your details will be held by us on our computer database for use by our Administration Department for maintaining proper records and for marketing purposes.  It will not be passed on to any third parties.
