At Daylesford we have brought back the rare breed Cotswold sheep to their ancestral home. The Cotswold breed was enormously popular for centuries until, with the demands of intensive farming, it dwindled to near extinction. When our Cotswold flock has its yearly clip in June, we send the fleece to an organic, natural dyer for treatment. Then we use artisan weavers who can produce a fibre of great beauty and integrity.
We treasure the Cotswold fleece for its qualities of hardiness and thriftiness. The soft, long fibrous wool provides a natural lustrous touch and our new cushions and throws have been produced in their un-dyed state, showing their natural beauty.
