We are extremely proud of our organic raised quails. Originating from Italy and Spain, they are adorable birds - small in stature, quiet and very friendly; thriving on human contact.
Raised here on our farm, they enjoy an organic diet rich in seeds, insects and anything else that takes their fancy while foraging in their organic home. Clearly enjoying life, they reward us with organic eggs renowned for their light texture and softly coloured yolk, encased in a beautifully speckled, delicate shell.
Not just a dinner party treat, quails’ eggs can be enjoyed poached, boiled, as a canapé with salmon, caviar or simply with a great Daylesford mayonnaise and celery salt.
Little fact: Unlike chickens, quails lay in the evening between 5 and 8pm, each bird producing a single egg.
