a kitchen garden renaissance

daylesford kitchen garden

We are striving for the renaissance of the English kitchen garden. We grow traditional heritage varieties of vegetables, using natural alternatives to pesticides and traditional methods: the results are mouth-watering. Season by season, we produce what we believe to be some of our tastiest national assets: purple sprouting broccoli; English asparagus; fresh raspberries and gooseberries; and winter treasures like parsnips and pumpkins. We aim to expand the culinary repertoire with courgette flowers, chicories, wonderful selections of heritage tomatoes and potato varieties and much, much more.

what we do

This is where we really come into our own: each season, we try to introduce new delights from our organic kitchen garden. We produce special delicacies month by month: wet garlic, courgette flowers, salad leaves of all varieties, heritage tomatoes, pea shoots, English asparagus of outstanding flavour, artichokes, rhubarb, wild strawberries, berries and currants of many kinds. We go for varieties - often heritage - which offer good old-fashioned flavour, in everything from pumpkins for Halloween to baby broad beans. These are available in the Farmshop as they are picked, and our chefs in the kitchens receive boxes fresh from the kitchen garden each morning, so that they can prepare fruit and vegetables when they are at their peak.

vegetables, fruit & herbs

From courgette flowers to purple sprouting broccoli; from rare heritage varieties of tomato to artichokes; from fresh baby broad beans to aromatic herbs; we can bring our customers vegetables, fruit and herbs picked that morning.
